591 Sticky Notes is an installation that highlights the necessity of recognizing and accommodating ADHD as a disability, particularly in educational settings. This project serves as a reminder to the community about the challenges faced by those with ADHD, many of whom have not received proper diagnoses or support.
I created a visual representation using 591 sticky notes—one for every hundred adults in San Francisco estimated to have ADHD. Viewed from a distance, the installation forms a thought bubble with the written data. As viewers approach, the lines of a brain drawing emerge, and up close, each sticky note prompts reflection on the accommodations and recognition of ADHD in schools and universities.
This installation was displayed outside the University Center Building at the University of San Francisco.
